Ruston, LA, to Port Lavaca, TX

We stayed at Lincoln Parish Park a couple of nights backed up to a beautiful little lake.  Been here several times before while visiting Bill's (now) oldest brother.  Charles is now in Memory Care in a very lovely facility.  He has Alzheimer's and is not doing well.  He starts a sentence but cannot seem to finish it with any cohesion.  Please keep Charles and wife Wanda in your prayers.  It's very sad to see him like this and has been especially hard on Bill.

From there we went to Lakeview United Methodist Conference Center in Palestine TX  Lakeviewmcc.org   (double click)  We worked here many times and is one of our favorite places to work.  Josh Pulver, the new President, showed us around the acreage and new buildings that have been built since we were there last about 4 years ago.  This is where Cheryl did the 153 stained glass crosses for the Gift Shop that came from the Chapel windows.

Got to Port Lavaca about 3:30 Friday afternoon.  The First United Methodist Church here has made RV parking spaces on part of their property and has graciously allowed the NOMADS to use their facilities.  We are about six blocks from the house where we will be working, probably the closest we've ever been to the work site.  Caught up on news from our friend Suzanne who is our team leader.  We've worked with her before and will enjoy working with her again.

Yesterday we went to visit the historic Half Moon Reef Lighthouse.  It has been moved from it's original location due to so many hurricanes.  Cute little lighthouse, not at all what we expected!
There is also an historic bell on the church property here that is still rung every Sunday.  We got to hear it this morning.
